Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. The Nnenna Yuukay Scholarship exists to close that gap — funding the education of exceptional young Nigerians who are limited only by their circumstances, never their potential.
About the Scholarship
The Nnenna Yuukay Scholarship Program is the flagship initiative of the Nnenna Yuukay Foundation, created to provide full or partial academic funding to outstanding students from underserved communities across Nigeria.
We believe that no child's future should be determined by the size of their family's wallet. This scholarship is our commitment to ensuring that the brightest minds — regardless of where they were born or how little they have — are given the resources to rise.
Recipients will not only receive financial support; they will become part of the Nnenna Yuukay Scholars Network — a growing community of young leaders supported by mentorship, career guidance, and a lifelong sense of belonging.
Eligibility Criteria
You May Qualify If You Are…
- Nigerian citizen currently enrolled in or applying to a recognized secondary or tertiary institution
- From an underserved or low-income household — financial need is a primary consideration
- Demonstrated academic excellence with a minimum average grade of B / 65%
- Between the ages of 14 and 28 at the time of application
- Committed to giving back to your community in a meaningful way
- Able to provide two character references (teacher, community leader, or religious leader)
You May Not Qualify If…
- Already receiving full funding from another scholarship program
- Currently enrolled in a private fee-paying institution with no demonstrated financial hardship
- Unable to provide required documentation within the stipulated timeline
Required Documents
All documents must be submitted digitally in PDF or JPEG format. Ensure everything is legible and up to date before submitting.
Timeline & Deadline
Applications Open

Document Submission
Submit all required documents before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Review & Shortlisting
Our committee evaluates applications based on need, merit, and community commitment.
Interviews
Shortlisted candidates are invited for a brief virtual or in-person interview.
Award Announcement
Successful recipients are notified and onboarded into the Nnenna Yuukay Scholars network.

What the Scholarship Covers
Tuition Fees
Full or partial school fees for the academic year.
Learning Materials
Textbooks, stationery, and required learning resources.
Mentorship
Direct access to mentors, professionals, and the Nnenna Yuukay Scholars community.
Exam Fees
Support for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and other qualifying examinations.
Welfare Stipend
A monthly welfare contribution to support transport and daily needs.
Certificate of Excellence
Official recognition as a Nnenna Yuukay Scholar upon program completion.
